Lee, a Shropshire native, began his mountaineering journey on the familiar slopes of The Wrekin, Long Mynd, and Stiperstones.
In 2019, he joined his local Ramblers group, later becoming a member of the Shrewsbury Mountaineering Club in 2023 and stepping onto the committee by 2025. Eager to build confidence in the hills, Lee completed the National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) Bronze and Silver levels, equipping him with the skills to safely lead walks and support others on the hill.
Now a qualified Summer Mountain Leader, Lee is trained to guide groups across the UK outside of winter conditions, including on low-grade scrambles where ropes aren’t required.
His ambitions don’t stop there—he aspires to achieve the Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI) award, which will allow him to instruct you in all aspects of mountaineering, including coaching trad and sport climbing, and leading all grades of scrambling. This will give you the freedom to explore the wildest and most remote parts of the UK with confidence. He also plans to pursue the Rock Climbing Instructor and Winter Mountain Leader qualifications to further broaden his expertise as he embarks on this journey.
Lee is deeply passionate about mental health and the positive impact of the outdoors on your wellbeing. As a trained Mental Health First Aider, he fosters a supportive and inclusive environment on every event, ensuring participants feel safe, seen, and empowered. With over a decade of experience as a qualified accountant in the corporate world, Lee brings a unique blend of professionalism and passion to his adventures. His events are not only fun and challenging but also rich in personal development—thanks to his background in coaching both technical and
interpersonal skills. You’ll likely come away having learned more than you expected—without even realising it.
Mountains can be classified in many ways—terms like Munro, Marilyn, Hewitt, and Wainwright each have their own criteria based on height, prominence, and location.
A P600 is a mountain with a prominence of at least 600 metres, meaning it rises distinctly from the surrounding terrain with a drop of 600 metres or more on all sides. These peaks also known as The Majors are mountains in the truest sense: distinct, dominant, and demanding.
Climbing a P600 is no small feat. Regardless of the route, you’re guaranteed a minimum of 600 metres of ascent, making each summit a genuine adventure.
At P600 Mountaineering, we embrace the challenge. We believe the most rewarding experiences come not from doing what’s easy—but from taking on what’s difficult, and thriving in the process.
Not necessarily —there’s no requirement to hire a mountain leader to enjoy the mountains. But choosing to head out with a qualified leader like Lee from P600 Mountaineering offers far more than just guidance. It’s about unlocking a richer, safer, and more inspiring experience.
Whether you’re new to the hills or chasing your next big challenge, we’ll help ignite your passion for the outdoors. With carefully chosen routes and meaningful moments along the way, every adventure is designed to leave you feeling uplifted and motivated.
We don’t just lead—we teach. From navigation tips to insights about local wildlife and geology, you’ll gain knowledge and skills that stay with you long after the day is done.
Our goal is to build your confidence in the mountains. With expert support, you’ll learn to make informed decisions, handle unexpected situations, and feel more capable in wild environments.
With deep, first-hand knowledge of the UK’s mountain landscapes, we’ll take you beyond the beaten path to discover hidden gems and quieter trails—places that maps don’t always show.
We handle the logistics—from route planning to on-the-day coordination—so you can focus on enjoying the journey.
Trained in advanced navigation, we’re confident in all conditions, even in remote areas where signs and paths are scarce.
Lee is a certified First Aider (16-hour Outdoor First Aid + Emergency First Aid at Work), equipped to respond effectively in remote settings. We bring the experience to assess risks, adapt plans, and keep your day running smoothly.
We add depth to your day with storytelling, nature knowledge, and thoughtful pauses to take in the view—turning a walk into a memory.
